permissions of files and folders


i have three files and one folder. as root i copied them from one user account to the other. the files now sit in the second account and they have a red circle, which is access denied. could someone tell me how can i unlock them?

As I dont know what user you want to own them etc.

try these:

man chmod
man chown

Hopefully these will help you get the information you need.

do "ls -ld" on the directories to see their permissions and ownerships
