PC to phone interface

Hi group,

I want to build a computer to phone interface that will allow me to:
  • take phone off hook
  • dial a number
  • listen and talk using a sound card or DAA
  • hang up phone
The talking will be coming in from another computer which I already have the software for.

As anyone seen a project like this??

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

sounds like you may be looking for asterisk. See
http://www.asterisk.org/ or your package manager.

HTH,

You are not getting into the telemarketing business are you? I am on the "do not call" registry

Ken

p.s. You might have a look at open source modem dialing programs. They would have some of this functionality which you might be able to borrow.

No, not at all.

I live in an area that does get cell reception and need a way to contact someone in cause of an emergency. I do have WiFi to the internet and a land line, so my idea is to use the GMRS radio to computer to WiFi to computer to phone. Similar to a HAM phone patch but no ticket required.

This is strictly a private use configuration. No commercial purpose at all.
