PC freezing up Solid
 
Hi there

I am having this problem of my pc freezing up solid. I need to find out why this is happening and where I can look to fix this problem. I would assume that its something to do with the kernel as the kernel is the one which is ultimately responsible for this kind of thing. Am currently running Debian woody kernel 2.4.22, with several backported applications(could this be the problem?) I normally freeze solid when the cdrom has problems reading a cd and when I have alot of apps open at one time(?).

Could someone point me in the right direction please?

When it locks up, are the keyboard lights flashing?(this indicates a kernel panic)

You could check out the log files for more information, like /var/log/messages, and /var/log/syslog. These usually contain usefull information.

Hi there

No - keyboard lights not flashing. As I said - frozen solid.
After investigation of logs I see the following that could be of concern but I don't know how to tackle:
