You can make the filesystem as big as you need to by just adding all the files you want to the /path/to/paul'sboot-cd/root before you run the make-iso.sh script. For instance there is no X11 on Pauls CD. So you could add your /etc/X11 tree and the /usr/X11R6 tree and what other files you need and you could add X11 to the CD.

I have bootable CD's that are a few Mbytes big and I have some I've made that are 600Mb. What you need to remember is that you have to add to it before you burn it. If you are thinking that you can make the filesystem bigger so you can add to it after booting then that is not possible, remember it is still a CD. You have to erase and start over to add stuff to it.

Ok thanks for that, i did add some files from my already installed OS before i compiled it, but it had a error that it could load the root file system (kernel panic error). so i thought it may have been from a too small root file size, obviously not that then.

I am planning to make a bootable cd for internet browsing, and email. A minimal install as possible, just with a few packages installed, basically just a disc for on the move, a little travelmate to carry with me.
