i have used gparted to partition my hdd in 2 formats.but one of the partitions i would like to change the format type. i think its fat32 and i wanna to change it to ntfs (not sure if thats correct) but, my main question is if i just wanna change that part of the hdd is the entire hdd gonna be formated or just the "fat32" side cause i dont wanna lose my data on the other side.

It should convert only the partition that you select. Just make sure you backup all your data first before you try anything. Also even though the paritions are on the same hard drive they are still viewed separately ina logical way.
