Partitioned deleted by linux deleted

Hi All

I was installing Linux Debian on a machine and my usb external drive (320 GB) was attached with it (It was on NTFS that time). During installation I deleted all the partitions from machine and from my external drive.
Can I recover the data from this drive?

Any tip or software.

if you had only one partition, create new partition with same size and type and magically all your data is back..

(dont modify or create any filesystem on it)

I suggest using windows to do that because you use ntfs

This advice should be investigated before executing.

Install testdisk in Debian and use the same word as a root command to use it for recovering partitions. If you took the advice by kane, you may need to issue command: photorec to recover your data, (after installing testdisk).
