Hi all

Does NE1 know if reiser FS only supports files up to 4GB? I can't copy files over the network that are larger than 4 gb. An example is, when I copied SuSE 10.0 DVD ISO over SMB from my work pc to the server it keeps stopping at just more than 4GB.

Any ideas?

All modern filesystems are 64 bit.
Files >4Gb are supported.

Any idea...
 

Any Idea what it could be? I have tried using SMB, Midnight Commander with SSH as well as using my External HDD.
Any help would be cool...

I had that problem. I booted into failsafe mode, without any acpi, or gui, and then it worked.

Hmmm thats cool and all...
 

Hmmm that's cool and all, but what if my box is a server? :) Does anyone know of some other solution or what the problem is? I am losing allot of hair because of it and I am almost bald...

Needs some further explanation. You say the external drive transfer failed, I assume it failed copying from the drive to the server.

What distribution / version of linux is the server running?
What kernel version is running on the server?
What samba version is running on the server?
Are you really saving the file to a reiserfs?
