Partition?
 

I want to install Red Hat 7.3 on my box. The hard drive is 20 gigs, but I want to install Win Xp and RH. How I need to partition the hard drive? Also does it possible to see Win XP partition from RH box?

The second part, yes you can. You will need to enable NTFS support in your kernel ( I know Mandrake does that by default).

The first part, depends on your needs. What are you going to be using each OS for? And do you want to 'share' your files for both OS's?

Also take in mind that its usually easiest to install Windows first then Linux. Also you may consider partitioning XP with a fat filesystem if possible as its easier to setup and read/write from within Linux.

I would agree on the point about a FAT32 system.

First of all, Windoze XPee is not very friendly with Linux,... so watch yourself while trying to set up a duel-boot.

Second, the best solution to a duel boot dilemna is to have 3 hard drives,... 2 in slide out trays (with a single slide-out rack installed in the system) that can be swapped out after a shutdown and power-off, and a 3rd that is a secondary FAT32 partition for exchange of data. That's what I have with my Mandrake Linux 8.2/Windoze 98 machine. That way you don't have to worry about Lilo taking a fit on you and messing up both systems.

If one system takes a crap on you, you always have the other available to do work or whatever.
