partimage - cannot read bitmap block 0 from image

Hi

I decided to get smart this time and backup everything before 'yum update' - not that I've had problems, but you never know...

I used partimage. Worked fine for all but / (which contains /usr) - 3.9GB. Failed with error "Can't read bitmap block 0 from image"

I then tried tar, but it terminated after writing 1 block with an unspecified error.

How do I handle the bitmap error? If my system is unstable, I want to fix it before it gets worse. fsck says there is no problem.

TIA
CollieJim

BTW /usr is not a separate fs because I got tired of distro installs ignoring the separate partition when calculating space available.
