When I press the HotSync button on my Palm Treo 600, the following appears in /var/log/message:
Code:
Oct 15 09:41:32 localhost kernel: usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using address 3
Oct 15 09:41:32 localhost kernel: usbserial 2-2:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected
Oct 15 09:41:32 localhost kernel: usb 2-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)
Oct 15 09:41:32 localhost kernel: usb 2-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs)
Oct 15 09:41:34 localhost udev[21613]: creating device node '/udev/ttyUSB0'
Oct 15 09:41:34 localhost udev[21615]: creating device node '/udev/ttyUSB1'
I'm using FC2 with Gnome. When I run the Pilot configuration program, I specify /udev/ttyUSB0 as the port and when it tells me to press the HotSync button, I do. Nothing happens for a few minutes until a 'cannot connect' error pops up on the Palm.
Any ideas?!
Thanks so much,
Peter
