Palm & Linux banking apps -- Want your recommendations
I hope this is the right section for this kind of question.
I used to do the Quicken <-> PocketQuicken thing for managing my money (when I had money). It worked a treat and kept me up to date regarding my accounts, giving me the same balance info whether I was at my desk or on the road. But, that was back when I was a Windows user.
For Linux alternatives, I've settled on Gnucash as my favorite (although I'm open to another, STRONG option), but I'm stuck when it comes to finding a Palm OS app that will sync up with any Linux financial application.
Part of my problem is that I don't yet fully understand the ways that conduits work. If I understand correctly, Windows conduits work under Windows: they do not function under Linux. Correct?
In my adventures with Palm (technically, Visor) paired with Linux, I've gotten the USB cradle to work, and I've managed to sync my DateBk4 with J-Pilot. But, AvantGo and PocketQuicken data just sit on my Visor, untouched by Linux.
If there are some good articles on the subject that you all could point me to, or if you could recommend your favorite combination of Linux desktop financial app and Palm OS fin. app, I would be very grateful.
Thanks!
