whats difference between .src.rpm and rpm, and what is spec.rpm

src = source, i.e. the basic source code inside an rpm. only useful if you wish to compiled to application yourself, yet wish the entries to be valid with the rpm database, as opposed to a normal rpm which is precompiled. a spec file is what defines the dependencies, file locations etc...
