package

hi,
when i install new updates on rhel 6 the best is to boot in single user mode then service network start and yum update <package> or from multiuser mode yum update <package> after the application is shutdown?

is it safe to execute yum update in multiuser mode with application up and users there?
just answer to both questions.
tnx

you can just install packages as root using yum, there is no need to boot into single user mode (there can be some exceptions)
