That can be considerable work, mostly trial and error. First, install knoppix to you hard drive so you can work on it, then once it's where you want it, burn it to a cd. On the realistic side, you might want to use google's directory, and find a low resource tiny distribution or something similar. Knoppix's primary appeal is that it is a full featured distro on CD. There are others already out there that run on low resource machines.
