Question Outlook notes import into Evolution

Finding it hard to get any ideas on this particular one. I'm using Ubuntu (latest) and although I've so far managed to get my mail/contacts imported by various means, as yet I can't find anyone able to provide me with even a starter to try on transferring my notes, which are rather important to me as they contain loads of vital info relating to various sites I administer etc. Although if pushed I can cut/paste the info into a txt file and just port it that way, would be much nicer if an automatic transfer could be found. Anyone any ideas on it?? Be great if someone here could beat the Ubuntu forum members who seemingly have no ideas as nobody's answered my query there Appreciate any input at all. Tks.

Evolution doesn't yet have a memo/notes function. It has recently been added (see this bug), but unless you build your Evolution from CVS, odds are the version supplied with your distribution doesn't have it yet.

As an alternative, you could email your notes to yourself, then move them to a folder. When the notes component is generally available and stable, you can move them back where they belong.

Outlook files

I think Evolution is Gnome. If you can stomach KDE, I believe there is something called OL2KDE that might help.

Also, can you export from Outlook to CSV in Excel or OpenOffice calc, then import to Evolution?

hope this helps

Thanks so much for your replies - pretty much sadly confirms what I figured - there's (as yet) really no easy way to do this. Can't export the file into anything other than a PST file, but am now trying to see if there's any type of conversion program to maybe make that into something like plain text. Your suggestion of the email to myself may be worth a thought - just have to try it and see I suppose . But truly appreciate your input on it, as I was getting vexed on the other forums that nobody replied at all. Thanks again. TKR
