OS help / suggestion on a DSL (damn small linux)
Hey guys, just was givin a project to take a box and have it be completly read only, on start, open a browser in keyosk mode and open a local flash app that pulls data via the net.
The box was purcahsed here (http://damnsmalllinux.org/) and is a standalone little box with a usb port, serial parallel ethernet, and a 500mb drive. It shopped with Knoppix, and I guess it's an old version as FF 1.06 is installed, no flash, etc. and there are dependency issues and since yum/apt arent there it makes it more fun. Are there any suggestions, as I would like to try maybe a fedora live setup via thumb drive (which I assume will work) or any other suggestion as to get this moving. I am not sure how to setup the usb flash drive to be the 'boot' image type but I will read while I await some feedback Thanks. lr |
