OS Emulation

Hi,

Is it at all possible to emulate an OS(win xp) inside linux, that is also installed as a bootable operating system on the same hard drive. So basically instead of rebooting and using windows, is there anway to emulate a given partition on the hard drive inside linux.

Can VMWare do this? Or anything similar?

I believe vmware can read from what is called 'raw disk' installations. The gentoo forums had a post something to that effect.
