opera error message killing me

I'm using the Opera web browser and recently it began acting up. Every half minute or so I get an error message as follows:

Warning: Could not save hotlist file. Permission denied.
/home/tim/.opera/opera6.adr

chmod 666 [the file] did not help.
Any idea what I need to do to get rid of this very annoying message?

Tools/Preferences/Network/History and Cache. Check your settings. Make certain they are not set too low. If the allowable cache is full, you can't save anymore, and you'll get the permission denied error.

I enlarged the cache size and cleared it as well. I also am using only 18% of my /home directory. I am still getting the error messages and they are coming about every 10 seconds as I write this.
