OpenOffice.org Won't Print Right

My printer has 2 trays and I put the paper in the lower tray. I got CUPS set up so it prints from the lower tray and that worked for most every other program like Mozilla Firefox. When I try to print from OpenOffice.org though, it tries to print from the upper tray and then fails because it has no paper in it. I ran the "spradmin", i think it was called, in the OpenOffice.org folder and I was able to successfully print a test page but when I try to print from a document it tries to print from the upper tray again.

the properties button of the selected printer from the printer admin tool should give you an option about second from the bottom to select which tray to use.
good luck.

in spadmin, rather than lpr, use

kprinter --stdin

Then you can use CUPS to take advantage of the printer features.

Ah i finally figured out the problem...... I was trying to print a Microsoft Word document as a test. I opened a regular text file and that worked. Strange...

probably a formatting problem. you could try saving the file in the native open office format/file type. i believe it's sxw.
good luck.
