OpenOffice.org "logic error 2" on startup
I downloaded and installed openoffice.org suit and when i try to open it, it comes up for a few seconds then crashes. The program ends printing to console "Logic error 2". I'm running slackware and built OO.org from source.

Sorry to hear OOo failed after a compile. That's a long compile and it sucks when things don't work out right afterwards. |
I'm using Slackware 12.1. I had no errors or any problems compiling it. After a few hours of frustration i removed all OOo2.4.1 that i had on my computer and tried an earlier version (2.3.1) and it worked, so at least i have a working office suit. Although the automatic update doesn't work...
I'll keep using the old one until the new realease in September. =) |
If you're not too bothered about using the precompiled version, Robby Workman (rworkman on LQ.org) has a SlackBuild script on his site which repackages the OO.org binaries into a Slackware package which can be managed with pkgtools.
http://rlworkman.net/pkgs/sources/12.1/openoffice.org/ Note, he suggests not using the automatic update with this either (see README at above link). |
