openoffice 2.2 upgrade
Hello all,
OS: CentOS 5 I am upgrading my openoffice from 2.0 to 2.2 these are the step i took: remove old office yum remove "*office*" followed the openoffice step to install new 2.2 yum localinstall *.rpm then installed desktop invironemat yum install openoffice-redhat-rpm rebooted my system and everything worked the way it suppose to until I ran "yum update" which is trying to install the old version of openoffice, some how it doesn't see that i have the upgraded 2.2 version. my question how do i make the system aware of the new version? why this behavior is happing? just to test things i did go through with yum updates and it downgraded my office to the old version yet when i run rpm -qa "*office*" i see 2.2 versions: openoffice.org-core05-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-kde-integration-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-pyuno-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-math-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-core04-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-gnome-integration-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-base-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-core06-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-core03-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-core04u-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-testtool-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-redhat-menus-2.2-9153 openoffice.org-core09-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-javafilter-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-emailmerge-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-impress-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-core02-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-core05u-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-onlineupdate-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-core10-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-writer-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-xsltfilter-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-graphicfilter-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-core08-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-core03u-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-core07-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-calc-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-core01-2.2.1-9161 openoffice.org-core-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 openoffice.org-draw-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 Thanks in advance |
Put the line below in your /etc/yum.conf and yum won't attempt to upgrade openoffice.
Code:
exclude=openoffice* |

The openoffice packages in Fedora probably have a higher package build version than the OOo rpms.
