Does anyone know how to change the fonts that OpenOffice641c uses so that everything is readable? I know you can change fonts in the application, but still everything is really bad, it's almost like looking at netscape before font rendering was fixed.
I can't imagine really using it for a long time when it looks that bad. MSOffice kicks it apart appearance wise, and I've read some good things about OpenOffice/StarOffice so I'd have thought there must e some way to fix it up?
I don't really mean the fonts for what's typed, it's the whole font rendering of the application. Anywhere you see some text it is awful. It's like it needs to have anti aliasing applied to the application (it is set in the options, but again those options are only for text entered in a document etc).
Fine, everything is good, I'm using Mozilla for this, I've imported webFonts and it's nice. I don't have Tahoma which I'd like. I had the same problem with 8.1 loaded. Here's two images, the first one as you can see, looks ok with fonts, the second one has OpenOffice and you can see how bad they are.
Well, must be just built into OO then, pity cause it spoils it a bit. I'm sure I downloaded StarOffice at one time and I don't think they were any better in that either. Perhaps I'll install it at work on NT and see what it comes up like in there. I don't know how C++ does widget stuff, so hope they decide to fix it up at some stage.
well it's nothing to do with c++ per se. oo / so uses XUL for their GUI, and as it's portable and all that it can't use native font rendering and all that shit, so that's the result.
