Sun released the star office 5.2 code under the GPL which spawned the open office project, star office 6 is based on open office, open office is up to build 638c and the two are almost the same, they even use the same installer. Hopefully now that the filters used in star/open office are GPL some other office projects will port them. Koffice with good import/export filters would be a killer app.
