Opening a Firefox window on bootup.

Hi was hoping for a bit of guidance on a question I have, if it's possible? If so some help on achieving my aim.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.10.

I use google calendar and what I'd like is on boot-up a Firefox window to automatically open in workspace 3 (Desk 3) straight at my calendar.

My calendar isn't my home page.

in kde (kubuntu) it can be specified in 'system settings'. in gnome?

or do you need a script in /etc/rc...

See 'profiles' in Firefox user guide

A long time ago I had a simlar issue with Gnome 1.x which used a Sawfish window manager. I found by manually editing (while the GUI was not running!) the file where Sawfish stored its info I could force it to do what I wanted. Maybe you can do something similar with Metacity. If you decide to try this, make sure you first save a backup of the last version of that file in case something goes horribly wrong.

Please let us know if you come up with a solution.
