opening a .exe in linux


Hi Id like to open and run a .exe while in windows though I dont know which app I should use. Any ideas?

if you mean "run a .exe in Linux"
then
you need oneof the various Windows "emulators"
Winex
Wine,
VMWare

I have only ever tried Wine, and I managed to get a Win app working on it once only
(i suspect this has much to do with my lack of understanding)

There are MANY posts on this forum about these apps

For MS DOS exe files, try dosemu

Unless you have an absolute requirement to use the Windows executable, a better approach would be to use the Linux equivalent.

I would use a linux equivilant but this is an .exe from CISCO academy; they dont really support linux

You only option is to use an Emulator (Win4Lin or VMWare) or Wine....
