Welcome to LQ

.exe files are for windows. If you want to run Win files in Linux, you need WINE.

This is the LUG forum - for Linux User Groups. Please try to post in the correct forum.

Stop shouting - it's very bad netiquette.

Don't want to flame or butt in or anything, but technically this is the correct forum, after all he is asking how to do stuff in Fedora Core 1.
As for the netiquette, I couldn't agree more.

Also, bob, you might want to check your spelling before submitting, just to prevent others from misunderstanding.

Rolby - now it's in the right forum, after I moved it from the LUG forum. But I agree with the rest of what you said.

Bob_Knab - which program are you trying to run? It's likely that there is already a Linux version/program which will do the job.

Isn't WinMX on the Gnutella network? If it is, I would recommend just using giFT and bypassing Wine. You'd get much better results. Or maybe it's LimeWire I'm thinking of.... Who knows anymore....
