Openbox double-click problem

When running the Openbox window manager (alone or with LXDE) if I double-click on a word, usually nothing happens. If I triple click I get the paragraph first time, but I often have to try several times to select a word this way.

Is this a general Openbox problem, or just my system? (ThinkPad R60 - i.e. I'm using a touchpad. Mandriva 2009.0 with GNOME, then with LXDE installed.)

Same Problem, Dell Mini 10

I know it's probably gauche to reply to a thread so old, but I see it has no responses, and it is relevant to my problem.

I have the same trouble double-clicking on icons, etc. I have a stock install of Debian Squeeze. Double-clicking works fine under Gnome, but in LXDE, I have to triple-click to get a double-click response.

Any advice welcome.
