open source streaming video formats

If I want to create a streaming video for use on the net, what format exists to do this with/for open source? I know w/ proprietary there's WMV, MOV, and RealVideo.

Thanks,

I mean more along the lines of: what open source codec (aka ogg, etc but for video) is for streaming video? I know linux users can download libraries that will allow them to watch the proprietary stuff, but I'd prefer for those who like to use only FOSS to be able to see my vids.
