open source leaders

hi
somebody knows an open source project started by people who is not programmer (at least when he/she started it)?

i'm thinking about someone who finds that there's no o.s. program for his/her studies and/or is forced to use a generic program, and have in mind an idea of program(she/he knows all the formulas and work method & approach..) but she/he can't write code.

I've found some examples but the most started a project as amateur programmer. Another example is Telsa Gwynne, but she married Allan Cox and is a nurse finding bugs.

thanx in advance.

Probably the most famous example of a non-programmer starting an open source project is Con Kolivas's kernel scheduler patches. Here is a good link:

could it be. I saw his home page and he's got three items of linux (kernel) and one of medicine (an info page, not program).
