open office and ms word

I made a resume with my windows xp partition. Now I am opening that file open office. The first time was ok. The second time I opened it I no longer could move the window around because the title bar at the top disapears. All I can reach is the file pulldown menu and then close the file. Also now when I open any of the xp files that title bar disappears.

I am not sure I understand you.
Do you mean the "Title bar" is off your visible screen and therefore not visible?
If so, and you are using KDE (not sure about gnome) right-click on a visible edge or corner of your window and choose Move. Move the window until you can see the title bar, then left click.
