Open a Port in RH 8.0

Hello:

I need to open FTP port 21... in RH 8.0. I used inetd.conf in RH 6.1 to open a port, but this new version is different as it doesn't have inetd.conf, but this have xinetd.d/ftp and I did change from disable=yes to disable=no, but i'm still geting "connection refused" when I tried testing ftp access.

I appreciate any feedback.

Dont know if this will work for ya, but if you go into a termial session and run "setup" you can change the firewall options (of course you have to be super user to do this). Good Luck
