OK so got to know linux from scratch but.........
hi..
i had posted earlier asking for help in making a linux system...and i got the best place possible http://www.linuxfromscratch.org but as far i understand the linux system built there was a text mode one.. what if i wanted to built one with graphical support in it. or in other words does anyone know where i can find all the packages installed in a fully graphical system and how to go about with the installation. thnks for the help tuxfood HEY!! go to mplayers official site...they have posted about a new about bug in mplayer ...the patches are also available. |
and if you read the linux from scratch book, it should point you to the beyond linux from scratch project where you can add all the stuff to make your text based system into a fully fledged one.

that project has a average system (its not basic, but it ain't advanced either), anyway XFree86 is a X implantation that has more then necessary things you'll need for a running X server, it includes all the programs, color database, etc.... so id take that, unless you want something harder to use.. in that case use google and find out about X11 servers for linux
