Ok I have gentoo unpacked to my Linux partion. Now what???

I have it all unpacked and I have the partition bootable.
The only problem is when I run liloconfig it says something about bad command.
I am root so wtf??
When I try to run grub it makes a big deal about me not having a floppy drive and wont work.
When I run lilo it says
/etc/lilo.config file not found

Can someone post their lilo.config so I can know the propper syntext (SP?) ?????
