Odd XFCE4 Behavior - Launches 4 Conkys
Greetings
While this isn't a huge deal I find it rather fascinating that Xfce4 launches 4 instances of Conky on 2 different distros. I have 3 on this box and it doesn't in one, and all have the same exact ~/.conkyrc. so it would seem it is not likely my doing. In the beginning I added conky to "Session and Startup" but upon seeing many running, removed it. Now there remains 4, 3 of which which I must manually end process whenever I login to Xfce. Any ideas or anyone else with same quirky behavior?.... and is there a pale puppet laughing somewhere "1....2... 3 ....4! Ha! Ha Haaaa!" |
Hi:
I'm not an expert on this but I have a few ideas. It sounds like XFCE and Conky are possibly having compatibility issues. This member at Arch Linux listed his conkyrc config file. Maybe commenting out some of the arguments that are associated with start-up and functionality in general may solve the issue. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic....969669#p969669 http://www.linuxine.com/story/conky-...t-xfce-problem It could be that Quote:
Hope that helps-:) |
Thanks for your response and the links. Regarding saving sessions, naturally I wondered about that first, but I can "end processes" till only one is left, logout and back in and there are 4. Thus the Count joke as I can't even imagine what is magic about 4 in this case. Anyway, I'll look those over and be back.

Amazing. That was so arcane with logging out and in 3 times I can't help but wonder how that was discovered... but it worked! 1....1!.....just 1 and only 1! Ha.... Ha.... Hahhhh! :D
Thanks |
I'm glad it worked enorbet-;)
