Obarun : openbox based on archlinux with runit without systemd
hello,
i would like to share my job. it's an iso called Obarun. it's a complete graphical environment based on archlinux but with several changes. The project has started due of the difficulties to maintain a stable system with systemd. Yes, Obarun don't use Systemd. Systemd is completly replaced by Runit. Futhermore, the init system started during booting was reorganized for Obarun. So it is inspired by void-runit, ignite, runit-for-lfs. it's not for a beginners in linux. if you don't interest by systemd controversy, don't waste your time with this. you can find here more explanation : http://obarun.org start on the project here : https://bbs.archbang.org/viewtopic.php?id=5419 download here : http://obarun.org/download.html screenshots here : http://obarun.org/screenshots.html contacts here : eric@obarun.org have a good day |
Good luck with your project.
I have one piece of advice for your website. It might be worthwhile to proofread the text and correct the spelling and grammar mistakes. Some people will mistake them for amateur quality of the project. People will get their first impression of the project from the website, and some people will not be able to distinguish between language barrier and the project. Just some helpful advice. Good luck and have fun. |

i known what you said but i'm alone one the project and the english isn't my native language. so it's difficult for me to write an entire web site without mistake. but people are right,i'm a amateur :) lol. however, my project seem interest some people that look over a grammar mistakes. i go to rectified the text but it take a time and knownledge for make a correct website. i'm open for all proposition about that :). |

1) Once more, Obarun is not a distribution, is not Arch Linux. Obarun is based on Arch Linux but with several changes. Then what is it? A modified Arch? A modification that can be added to Arch? 2) These values are Obarun-iso's values without changing anything. Obviously these values can change in function of the started services, kernel modules loaded and applications used. The meaning is unclear to me. 3) will give people the "got" of choice Give people the goal of choice? Or is give people the option of choice the intended meaning? |

the wiki is under construction. i would like to implement a complete explanation to do the same thing from a Arch base. i go to think how to explain more better this phrase 2) if you use the iso under virtualbox, your values aren't the same. this is normal because the loaded modules for the hardware is not the same. but you're right it's a little bit confuse 3) it's a mistake. normaly the good word is "goût" (french word). it means sense of taste (i believe). i wanted to explain that i was not an english man by this, bad idea :(. i go to change this too many thanks for your help. if you try the iso , please give a back. work, no work, idea, bugs etc |

The hope is that the Obarun system will give people the "got" of choice.* (At the bottom of the page or immediately after this section.) *Sense of taste. Quote:
Edit: The board it refusing to let me post the French word. It is posting "got" instead. |
