Hello,

I'm running 2.6.14-rc5 (although this doesn't matter, this has occured with all [stable] versions) with the latest 32 bit nVidia drivers (1.0-7676). When I first boot, my display is replicated through both my TV and my monitor. It will stay this way on all TTYs until I start X. After X is started and I return to the console, my screen is black. When a user is logged in and I type something, the output is shown as random green characters all across the screen.

Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, what was their resolution?

for pushing video out to the TV you need to setup the second monitor correctly with the proper horizontal and vertial sync rates, also keeping in mind if it is a standard TV you will be limited to either 640x480 or 800x600 for the TV.

post the portions of your XF86config-4 or Xorg.conf(sorry dont know the correct name for xorg) for more help.
