nVidia module with framebuffers

Hey guys, I've just recently started playing with framebuffers and had a couple of questions. Usually, I use the nvidia module driver for X for accellerated OpenGL support. This is crucial for me since I code apps in OpenGL. However, with the framebuffer, do I have to use it's X driver or can I use the nvidia module and still get it to work? I don't know how accellerated the fb driver is although I doubt it's as fast as nvidia's.. if it's accellerated at all.

I've been having trouble scrolling up with framebuffers as well. My biggest problem is that I can't scroll upwards in utilities like "less". I checked out the howto/forums but it seems that the video parameters they suggest don't work for me. Any ideas?

And to clear one thing up, in framebuffers is Tux constantly on the first 5 or 6 lines on the screen? Weird things seem to be happening. When I boot, Tux is there. Then I can clear the screen and he's gone.. then I less a file and he's there again and the scrolling (only downwards) exclude the Tux image. Just wanted to know what was "normal".
