Nvidia + kernel 2.4.20 = unresolved symbols?

Hi!

My first post on this forum!

Well now to the thing. I've just installed Slack 8.1 on my computer which also contains a Nvidia graphics card. But the problem is when I have compiled me a new kernel(2.4.20) and should install the NVdriver I've got some errors that I have been trying to solve for weeks now!

when i do the ordinary: make install
I get several errors like the following:
bash-2.05a# make install
ld -r -o NVdriver Module-linux Module-nvkernel
size NVdriver
text data bss dec hex filename
894203 55476 52396 1002075 f4a5b NVdriver
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.20/video/NVdriver
make: *** [package-install] Error 1

And when i do it with: make install SYSINCLUDE=/usr/src/linux-2.4.20/include
I get the following error:

ld -r -o NVdriver Module-linux Module-nvkernel
size NVdriver
text data bss dec hex filename
894203 55476 52396 1002075 f4a5b NVdriver
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.20/video/NVdriver
make: *** [package-install] Error 1

When i compiled my kernel(2.4.20) i did:
make mrproper, make xconfig, make dep, make clean, make bzImage, make modules install. After that i booted it up and it worked all fine until I would install the Nvidia kernel(the tar.gz one). What could possibly be the error? I'm starting to go mad soon here over in the cold country

Do "depmod -ae" then "make install" on the nvidia kernel package.

Do you have other kernel sources installed other then 2.4.20? If so, make use that when compiling the nvidia drivers, the right include files are being used. Als make sure that the kernel source are installed correctly. So "/usr/include/linux" and "/usr/include/asm" correspond with the right kernel.
