im using mandrake 9 and am trying to install teh nvidia drivers from tar.gz so i go to "make install" the nvidia kernel and it tells me that the compiler im usign is not the one that was used to compile the kernel and so it cannot continue but that i can tell it to ignore that and do it anyways by using the command it gives me...can i do that or will it give me problems if so how do i change which compiler it uses or where do i use that command i tried just typing it into the console and doing a "make install" again but it didnt do anything
I had a problem with compiling the NVDrivers but I don't remember the error message. However, I fixed it by installing the kernel-source RPM. So try to install the kernel source and compiling.
