Question ntsysv utility

I am trying to use the ntsysv utility, however, although I am logged in as root I can't insert or delete an asterisk in any of the boxes.

Many thanks

of course the ntsysv should work under root
did you press the space key?
if nothing is happening there must be some message
maybe if you can give the message
(it returns 0 on success ,1 on error and 2 if the user cancels the operation)
i could try

Hi

The space bar deletes the asterisk, but I haven't been able to find a key to insert the asterisk.

try just using the chkconfig program, much quicker

chkconfig --levels 3 5 smb on

for example.

Thanks Guys

I've since discovered that the spacebar has a toggle action and will delete or insert the asterisk.
