Try this:
modprobe ntfs
as root in an xterm. If it returns nothing, good. Do lsmod just to check and make sure it was probed. If it was, good deal. Now do fdisk -l to find out which partition is your NTFS partition. Then, again as root mount it with:
mount -t ntfs /dev/hdx /mnt/ntfs
Where /dev/hdx is the device found from fdisk -l
Assuming /mnt/ntfs exists by:
mkdir /mnt/ntfs
If you want to do this all the time and allow users to access the drive make an entry in your /etc/fstab similar to:
/dev/hdx /mnt/ntfs ntfs users,auto,umask=000,ro 0 0
