I'm using RedHat 7.3

I was configuring stuff for samba when this happened
I restarted the machine and it no longer goes to the gui login screen

in /etc/inittab change default runlevel to start from 3 to 5, hence change
id:3:initdefault:
to
id:5:initdefault:
