not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later


When I boot my machine with REDHAT linux 9.0 the following message comes

not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
ide0: UDMA at 0xe000-0xe007, BIOS settings: hdaMA, hdaio
etc

it will take several minutes to boot. Pls send the solutions.


Machine Details : Intel Pentium IV

Mother Board : 845

I believe this has to do with the BIOS not initializing the IDE controller correctly. You could try messing around with hdparm to try to force the DMA mode you want.
