No Updates with 'yum-update'

All,
hopefully someone can help me out ...
I was asked to patch / update a Fedora Linux Server ...
First of all I'm not sure about the version / release !?
etc]# ls -l *releas*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9 Mar 20 2007 fedora-release
etc]# more fedora-release
redhat-4
etc]# uname -a
Linux 2.6.20-1.2925.fc6 #1 SMP Sat Mar 10 19:15:16 EST 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Now to the problem - with a 'yum check-update' resp. 'yum update' I get:
etc]# yum check-update
Loading "kernel-module" plugin
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up repositories
core 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00
Reading repository metadata in from local files

etc]# yum update
Loading "kernel-module" plugin
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Update Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
No Packages marked for Update/Obsoletion

But this can't be possible !? For RedHat4 still patches / updates should be available.
Is it related to the Repos ?

Many Thanks
Stefan

That's not RHEL 4. That looks like Fedora Core 6, which reached End of Life on December 7th, 2007. So there are no more patches for it.

I'd have to agree. You're running FC6, update your OS if you want updated packages.

You have to upgrade Fedora alot since the new OS comes out so often. If you want to upgrade less often you can go with CentOS.

I think a clean install of the latest Fedora is what you want if you still want to use Fedora.
