No Mouse recognized

I am running Puppy after boot sequence is finished and the desk top is visible my mouse is not being recognized. Is there another way to get into setup without the use of my mouse to see if it needs adjustment.

Thanks, Madfingers

Did you upgrad your puppy version?
Is keyboard working fine?

I originally loaded an older version of Puppy everything was working properly until I booted to load a newer version. It loads and takes me up til it is done. The keyboard works fine but the mouse, is not being recognised. I have tried differnt mice both USB & PS2. The Keyboard is not moving me through the buttons to the menu so I can get into setup.

Thank you very much for your assistance I will try any recomendations at this point.

type ctrl-alt-f1 and you'll hit a console terminal. log in and then check /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see if there are any errors. Also it would help if you posted the contents here and tell us what Desktop you are usig

Once it went to the lucid, puppy desktop I hit ctrl-alt-f1 and it took me into the load up when it stop it said...
And i cannot see the first letter on each sentence.

?at ?etc /oldmousedevise: No such file or directory
The file /etc/mousebuttons been created, with content "5"
?v: cannot stat '/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/displaylink_drv.so': No such file or directory
?tarting X, specs in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. startupapps /root/.xinitrc...

30 mins later,

I did a reboot and I still seem to be in the same void......

Can you post the contents of your Xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log. Once the system is booted hit a console terminal ctrl-alt-[f1-f6] log in and the do less /var/log/Xorg.0.log, less /etc/X11/xorg.conf and X -version

Booted up, from CD brings up Puppy desktop where Keyboard and Mouse are now bot unresponsive.
Did Cont-alt=f1 where it runs through a list of command lines and stops at...
Starting X, specs in / etc/x11/xorg.conf, startup apps /root/.xinitrc

curosor dot drop to next line as if it awaits me to type in a command???

The harddrive and ram is totally dedicated to Linux. The keyboard and mouse issues began when I put the upgraded version (lupo 528.005 iso) of Puppy in
now it has to be booted from the CD and set the mouse will not click me into the menu and the tabs are not working on the desktop either I can't get into Setup where I would like to go to see if I can fix these issues from in there.
The keyboard and mouse are both PS2 purple/green.

Thanks in advance....
