Question No modem found in RH 8.0 - why?

Hi

I have just changed from Windows to RH 8.0, but the software cannot find either my HP LaserJet 1000, or my modem, which is an actiontec internal 56K modem. I am using a Dell notebook, so the modem is internal.

Is there a reason that it cannot find most of the hardware? Is there an equivalent to MS's Add Hardware wizard?

Many thanks for any help

Or, from the user account, what is the relevant information about your modem from the command:

cat /proc/pci

typed into an x term?

I already looked his info and passed it on. There are instructions on how to get the printer working on linuxprinting.org and his modem appears to be a winmodem.
