How do I tell or where can I change my NIC settings to see
how fast it is running at.

10mbps or 100mbps???

please don't just reply to questions when you don't know enough about the subject. if you have work to do then maybe you should be doing that instead?

Just copy a large file from one machine that has 100 to your box and see how fast it goes - if it is faster than 2mb/s, you have 100mbs. As for the ifconfig, the first line of my card tells: Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr <something>
If you have a 10mbs connection, it would say something like 10x-Ethernet.
Tell me if I'm wrong!
