Help!

I'm Running RH 7.1 and I have a Cyrix MediaGX Processor + Cyrix Kaluha video controller.
I also have analog video and LCD digital video outs.

I am successful in configuring xf86 for the analog video (using a dell monitor) if i tweak the settings i can bring it up to 1024x768 at 16 bpp with no problem.

But when i try to run it for the LCD i enter hell!

I hand calculated the vsync and hsync from the dot-clock specs on my LCD ( it's a Sharp ), the same for the pulse frequencies h and v.

The problem i have is that xf86 (running twm) will crash. The analog output will go blank (black) and the LCD will go bright white, and Linux will hang.

The crashes will occur always at startup of xf86, BUT SOMETIMES IT WILL WORK FINE!

I'm trying to fine tune the settings in XF86Config, and i have a couple of questions about the file.

the resolution mode line will have a couple of flags at the
end ( -vsync +hsync for instance).
I know that -hsync means a negative horizontal pulse, but there seems to be a second variant on this which is -HSynch

* does the caps have any bearing on what it means?
* is there a listing over the flags somewhere? i cant find it!
* Do you have to explicitly state that you are in non-interlaced mode? if so, how? (i know the flag for interlaced is.. err interlaced)

What puzzles me is that the ENTIRE SYSTEM will hang, i don't understand...

Anyone out there who has experienced the same problem (or a similar one), please, please respond! I am desperate!!

Also, i couldn't seem to figure out if the comment above the line for mode has ANY bearing on the behavior of xf86.
It states the visible pixel dimenstions, vsynch in hz, hsync in khz??? Prob'ly not huh?

Anyway, i'm fresh out of clues, so anyone with any suggestions PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Thank you

for this kinda thing its better I think to give the output of X on crash.
if ure not afraid to reproduce the problem, start a "crashable" X session with startx 2> Xerrors.log and post the contents here. I dont have an LCD but it might show us what its thinkin...
