Newbie needs help installing usb M$ TrackBall Explorer

Dear group

I am hoping someone can help me get my trackball working with RedHat 7.2

I'm a Linux newbie and from what I've read I need to use mouseconfig - but I can't get it to run....

Please could you tell me how to 'install' a trackball, and how to get mouseconfig to run?

I did read this thread, http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/10653
which seemed to be similar to what I need, but I didn't quite understand the answers. :-\

I would encourage you to do a some more searching in the threads.. the trackball is no different than a mouse. Even if it had 15 buttons...USB or PS/2 .. I have personally answered many different threads of the same question.
