Arrow Newbie After Untar??

Hi,

I am learning installation of apps from trickykid's how-to.

I have a bunch of untarred and unzipped apps. After I've cd'd to directory and I enter: ./configure for some apps I do get the configuration steps BUT FOR OTHERS NO FILE OR DIRECTORY.

Why NO FILE for some and not others?? What should I do?

Also, for ./config that is successful I get error: no cc compiler How do I solve this?

Thanks.

You will need to have GCC (or an other compiler) installed.

Could you give us an example of those other files ?
